I had no idea recycled flip flops were a thing but wish I picked up more of these bracelets than I did. Especially since they were a whopping .95¢ ea., and made by a South African fair trade group.

Five Favorite Products: The older I get the more I care about what is in the products I use. Cutting chemicals like parabens and sulfates is worth spending a little more. Right now these are the five brands I am obsessed with, all of which come in packaging as beautiful as their product functions.
- Wet Hair: Davines is an Italian company recently introduced by a friend who runs a spa and thought their Love Smoothing Conditioner would be perfect for my thick, wavy hair. It is.
- Dry Hair: Sachajuan Volume Powder changed my life. It lifts clean, flat roots and covers dirty, hungover hair beautifully. Not surprisingly it’s a Swedish secret sold in my Brooklyn hair salon.
- Skin: My aesthetician of nearly ten years swears by Institut Esthederm. I’ve tried several of their products and haven’t used a better moisturizer. It’s pricey but I am willing to justify anti-aging.
- Nails: Zoya and I go back over five years because it’s formaldehyde-free and has a great color selection.
- Scent: YSL Parisenne perfume is a perfect fall floral and change of pace from what I used for summer.
