For the past three years, my “kitchen” has been about six feet long including the stove, sink and refrigerator even if when I moved in I considered it my “dream” apartment. Since recently giving it up, I split my week between a friends place two blocks from my old digs and my moms house in the burbs, due to an unfortunate turn of family events. A major upside aside from the fact I adore my mom, is her kitchen! I’ve been cooking up a storm as I did before moving into a 400sq ft box. I came across Smitten Kitchen and have tried a slew of recipes including Quiche Lorraine which was delish, and Baked Mac-n-Cheese modified to four cheese à la Delicatessen where an old friend is the chef and recently opened Macbar next door. Up next is the Bourbon Pumpkin Cheesecake originally adapted from the pages of Gourmet (RIP). My mouth has been watering since coming across the recipe, Thanksgiving cannot come soon enough.

I’m hoping to check out the Andy Wahorl Polaroid of Sports Champions exhibit at Danzinger Projects which includes a collection of photos taken on a Big Shot camera featuring Muhammad Ali, Wayne Gretzky, Jack Nicklaus, and Pelé among others. The photos have been in the hands of a private collector since they were comissioned in the late ’70s - early ’80s and have only gotten more amazing over time. (via)
